Piece not detecting when placed on the base

I have this exact same problem. We played a few games, put it all back in the box and when we tried to play again a day later (today), this.

So, I checked the website, tried everything it said and none of that helped. Finally, this is what I did to make it work again:

I turned the plinth upside down, took the batteries out, then while still upside down, shook it a few times. There's something that rattles a bit inside. Then I put the batteries back in, pressed the button, then launched the app.

I think that shook some sense into it (I don't really know how this part of the plinth is built), and it seemed to work again after that for a couple tries. I'm not sure how long it'll last. We'll see when we play again (later tonight and probably tomorrow).

We've barely used its far and haven't handled it roughly (I can't vouch for the postal service handling though - it came to us in New York from California). If the problem occurs again, I'll likely contact support.

  • We are having the same problem.  We have only played the game once and it worked fine.  We put it back in the box and then took it out to play a few hours later and the pieces were no longer recognized when placed on the Plinth.  We will try the 'shaking' option and see if that works!  Fingers crossed!

  • Good news, I did a similar 'shake and smack' technique and it did the trick! Not sure what caused the sensor on the Plinth to get 'stuck' but after a shake followed by a firm tap on the Plinth it started to recognize the pieces again.  Thanks for the suggestion!

    You're welcome!

That trick worked for me a few times but eventually it didn't work any longer. I sent a message to the support folks about it and they quickly sent a replacement out. The replacement didn't have the little rattle and I haven't had a problem with it at all since!

If you still have problems, maybe a friendly message to support will help you resolve it!
